Wear Something Worth It

In 2003, menswear industry leader and legendary tastemaker Critt Rawlings started his namesake Crittenden line to bring quality mens tailored clothing to American men at a more accessible price. He'd seen the markup both at the high and low end of the business, and knew he could bring a much better value to market, a value he felt customers both needed and deserved. Your time is valuable, your investment in your wardrobe is too: take advantage of Critt's expertise, passion for style and his impeccable taste that lives on in his personally-trained staff. Critt's motto was "Excellence in quality, Excellence in value" and for over 20 years Crittenden has been bringing affordable luxury to men (and starting Fall 2024, we introduce our first women's capsule). That's why we say: Crittenden: Wear Something Worth It

Discover Crittenden
  • Bespoke details

True French-facing, soft construction, piped seams, butterfly lining, surgeon's cuffs, natural horn or mother of pearl buttons: these are just some of the details of a Crittenden garment, usually found on only bespoke, handmade garments at a much higher price. Critt's vision was to bring these to you in our highest-quality, well-priced, tailored-to-last garments: a jacket, trouser, vest suit or accessory that's actually worth the cost, without the high mark-ups of other brands. Thats why we stand behind our motto, Crittenden: Wear Something Worth It.

  • The worlds finest fabrics

Critt loved fine tailoring but his real passion was fabric. He worked closely over many decades and developed great cherished personal friendships with many of the the fine people at the world's finest fabric mills. Stories of his friendships in England, Scotland, the Hebrides, Ireland, and of course the Biella region of Italy, home to the most fabled Italian weavers, are legendary, but Critt also sought out new and talented designers all over the world: Austria, India, Peru, Chile, and the Far East. He preferred, and we carry today, the Crittenden tradition of seeking out not only the best in quality, tailorability and durability, but finding and supporting creative and unique small mills that not everyone else uses, in addition to developing exclusive designs for Crittenden.

  • Unrivalled fit and comfort

Critt's 60 years of leadership in design in tailored clothing, working with some of the worlds best patternmakers and tailors gave him a unique expertise in crafting the Crittenden pattern. The Crittenden proprietary pattern and our excellent team of cutters, sewers, and tailors in Portugal together produce an off-the-rack tailored garment that fits most men incredibly well--it's truly a minor miracle of tailoring that you have to try on to believe.

about our made to measure experience

Critt is the pioneer of unstructured tailored clothing. His style, attention to detail, and passion for clothing is evident in the garments he has tailored. Crittenden is providing this country with the best garments available.

Critt is one of the "Garment Industry Greats" in our book...no one on the planet more talented or knowledgeable about clothing. He is also a great guy...a definite character who is alot of fun -so we are lucky to have more than a few "Critt Stories"...

Menswear industry icon Critt Rawlings: Beyond his design talent and exceptional taste level, Critt was known for his kindness, compassion, and humanity. He was that rare guy who, when he asked how are you, truly wanted to know, always open to listen and eager to help lift your spirits.

An icon, a Superman, an incredible contributor, the most earnest and honest torchbearer, the heart and soul of our industry. Everyone who knew him loved him. We all ache for another dinner with our best buddy Critt. He was, using his own words and inimitable pronunciation, ‘Fabb-uh-luss!’”

Critt was an icon. I will always appreciate his extensive knowledge of just about everything, his impeccable manners and elegant, tasteful, timeless style. His passion for our industry was infallible; I can only hope to retain some of the prodigious guidance he offered me."

Mr. Rawlings. Friend, Mentor, Gentleman, Showman and All American guy. Critt was a beacon of style and elegance in an industry and world that often is on the opposite end of that spectrum. His place will never quite be filled but many of us carry small pieces of his memory and inspiration forward.

We are up to our 3rd linen/silk patch pocket jacket for my father, all different colors all in great condition.  The staff of CR go above and beyond to respond to emails and work with clients who are out of state, sending photos, replying within the hour, setting aside sizes, just wonderful to work with!  I would suggest CR to any fashionable gentleman not only for selection but just the overall experience they provide.

CRITTENDEN RAWLINGS

Crittenden Rawlings, known by his innumerable friends as Critt, was a designer, executive, tastemaker, gifted salesman, connoisseur and friend to all. A true southern gentleman born and raised in Kentucky, he was known for his warm smile, firm handshake and infectious laugh. A man with a twinkle in his eye and a love for the finer things in life, Critt was like many designers, a collector and a traveller, yet what he most loved to collect besides fine fabrics, were friends, whom he had the world over. Like one of his childhood heroes, Will Rogers, Critt "never met a man he didn't like."

Customer Reviews

  • Exquisite collection of clothing, owners and staff knowledgeable and provide tremendous customer service. Absolutely my favorite men's Clothier from San Francisco to New York and all in between.

  • Crittenden fills the void…. Having lived the last 25 years in Washington DC and NYC, I primarily purchased clothing from Brooks Bros.  Their inventory offers very limited choices these days.  Was thrilled to be told about Crittenden.  What a joy!

    William Martin USA
  • Crittenden is a true gem, as are Judy and her staff. You rarely find places like this anymore, in our "hurry up" world where so much of what we purchase is disposable. On our first visit, when we walked inside, we immediately felt it was a magical place & we were not disappointed. Later, upon learning the history of Crittenden Rawlings, we were even more glad we'd decided to visit. Our only disappointment is in knowing that we never had the opportunity to meet Mr. Rawlings and hear his wonderful stories. My husband will treasure every piece as he adds to his closet.

  • Crittenden is an amazing brand. One nice jacket from this treasure of a shop will last a lifetime. So we bought two! By all means if you need a special occasion jacket look nowhere else!

  • Eye for style--classic, tradition, fabric, tailoring, detail, service!!

  • When the time calls for a high quality suit or jacket, I 100% trust Crittenden Rawlings.  I have enlisted their help for the Kentucky Derby twice and a wedding.  I look forward to continuing to work with them on future needs. The staff is amazing and makes each encounter a personalized experience.  Everyone there takes pride in their work, and it shows.  I would highly recommend that anyone who is looking for a one-of-a-kind piece for any  function work with the team at Crittenden.

  • Absolutely the sweetest staff and most beautiful textures! Such a lovely store that is reminiscent of a quaint British clothier. The jackets are uniquely tailored of the most beautiful fabrics you will find here in the States.
